SUMMARY:Introduction to Emergency Operations Center Management
DESCRIPTION:The Introduction to Emergency Operations Center Management course is designed to introduce the role\, design\, and function of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)\, the supportive relationship to Area Command or Incident Command Post\, as well as coordination of multiple cooperating and assisting agencies.  This course is a group learning experience focusing on validating participants emergency planning documents and competencies of role players within the EOC and On-Site Command (ICP)\, a realistic tabletop exercise is conducted. \nSpecific Course Topics \n\nDescribe the role EOCs play in overall multiagency coordination.\nDescribe the processes and procedures for activating the EOC.\nPPOST\, Management by Objectives (SMART)\, and introduction to the Planning P.\nDescribe the factors involved in staffing and organizing the EOC.\nDescribe factors for effective EOCs.\nIdentify considerations for deactivating the EOC within the context of Recovery.\nGiven a scenario-based incident\, utilize key EOC concepts to successfully complete the scenario.\n\n Target Audience \nPersonnel required to be part of the EOC during an incident\, Command Staff from the Incident Command Post supported by an EOC\, Co-operating and Assisting Agencies\, Program Level Personnel responsible for Plan\, Program and Emergency Support Function documentation creation/management. \nDuration \nOne day (7 hours) \nPre-requisite \nICS-100 and ICS- 402 (are recommended) \nNote: All our courses are set at Eastern Time zone\, which is Toronto time.
