Bi-National Hazardous Materials Response Interoperability: Canada and United States Project 

• Analyze the Haz Mat Response in Eastern Canada and the New England States to enhance cross-border response planning. Develop a final joint methodology to drive long-term planning for Eastern Provinces and New England States to be validated through exercises.

New Brunswick E-Manifesting Project

• Investigate and explore gaps between the existing Transportation of Dangerous Goods act(s) and first responders in the event of emergency involving consignees transporting dangerous goods on New Brunswick’s roads. Develop a consensus from an industry-centric perspective on what a potential e-manifesting application for emergency response would look like. This information forms the basis of a prototype application that will see digitized dangerous goods manifests be transmitted electronically to the community in advance of transport, and first responders in the event of an emergency, without the need to approach the vehicle endangering themselves.
